They are also known as illianites, and they have a distinctive green or red agate shell that encloses a cavity filled with tiny quartz crystals. The crystals can be red, grey, black, blue or white, and they sparkle with a druzy effect. Tabasco geodes are the world's smallest geode formation, and they are highly sought after by collectors and jewelry makers.
